"Elephant" is the catchy and potent kids song that started Twirly Fun Times. Naturally, people want to know the inspiration behind the song. Here's the scoop:
When Twirly Fun Times founder, Ernest Worley, was in the fourth grade, his music teacher was Mrs. Gallean. She led an ice-breaker game that involved rhythmic clapping and an introduction along the lines of, "My name is ___ and I like ___," giving their first name and an animal that began with the same letter. Ernest has always been fond of elephants. 30 years later, he is still clapping and singing about them. The song Elephant is also played in the key of E major!
Twirly Fun Times promotes social emotional learning, including self-love and self-esteem. These themes are present in "Elephant" for all listeners to internalize.
